ONLINE Everson Art Book Club: A Perfect Red

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville

Event Details

The Everson Museum of Art and the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville are partnering to bring you a NEW book club right at home, in the car, on the trail, or camping in a tent in the woods. Wherever you are right now, you can enjoy a fascinating book and join the discussion on Zoom from your computer, tablet, or phone! Presented by the docents of the Everson, this social book club is open to adults and seniors looking to have a relaxing chat about a thrilling topic from the world of art.

We are reading A Perfect Red: Empire, Espionage, and the Quest for the Color of Desire by Amy Butler Greenfield for the June session. Join us on a journey following the story of Cochineal dye, a mysterious substance that created the boldest red anyone had ever seen. Of course envy, intrigue, and adventure are part of this tale as European countries raced to figure out what it was and how to make it theirs.

Registration Required. Zoom meeting information will be emailed to registrants on the day of the event. This event is moderated.

How to get the book:
5+ copies of A Perfect Red have been purchased for the library’s digital collection. Click here to see the title in OverDrive/Libby
If you are willing and able to support the author, copies can be purchased from:
